Asteromyia modesta? - Asteromyia modesta

Asteromyia modesta? - Asteromyia modesta
Cedar Rapids/ICNC, Linn County, Iowa, USA
August 13, 2011
Host plant leaf is Conyza canadensis (horseweed, a member of the family Asteraceae), this is the upper surface. Appears to have exit hole, but so does the bottom. Possibly an older Asteromyia modesta, will check newer leaves of same plant for younger galls.
