'Giant Ichneumon' - Megarhyssa atrata - Female

Size: Body ~1-1/2' Tail ~3+"
We have a California Maple in the backyard in which a woodpecker has been digging apart - obviously it's been for these bugs - as they appear to be coming out of small holes in the tree. There are about 1-2" long - but the tail - which appears to be two antenna-like feelers are about 3-4 inches long. They were seen just around 5-6 PM EST. One of them appears to be "hatching" out of one of the holes....

Not sure which species it is, but you can compare with the ones in the guide.
