This may be further identifiable, when I get around to it. For future reference (based on frassed photo): upper side of leaf, on a side vein.

Plant species?
Always include host plant info with galls, or if you don't know the plant, include shots of leaves and other identifying features. If this was on an oak, it is a cynipid gall. Especially for plain-looking galls like this, it may be necessary to know the exact species of oak, and whether this was on the upperside or underside of the leaf, on the midrib or a side vein, etc.

 
Chestnut Oak?
Although the photo of the leaf shows only a portion of a margin, the rounded teeth and very shallow sinuses suggest Chestnut Oak (Quercus prinus [=Q. montana]). Not a firm ID, but a best guess!
