Tent makers on Running Strawberry - Yponomeuta cagnagella

Tent makers on Running Strawberry - Yponomeuta cagnagella
Milton, Halton, Ontario, Canada
May 30, 2006
Size: ~1.5 CM
Found these guys quite abundant in this area. They were totaly defoliating much of the Running Strawberry (Euonymus obovatus) in the forest, in patches. They had these little tents made on the uper portions of the strawberry.

Some seemed to be light tanish-yellow while others were a darker grey-tan with black spots.

A co-worker identified these as Fall Webworm moth caterpilars.
