looks like Cleonis piger to me, too
an Old World species common in your area. Dryophthorus are all-brown, many times smaller, live in organic debris, never climb plants, and look very different:

some bugs just make ya laugh,
some bugs just make ya laugh, nice pic!

 
Ha, I know...
At full size it's all furry. Would make a great stuffed toy dont'cha think?
