Light arena for insect photography

Light arena for insect photography
Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
In 2005 I designed and built this inelegant device to give continuous 360-degree illumination for live insect photo shoots, and I've used it practically every day since. I called it a light arena because insects can run, fly, mate, eat, drink and fight with each other in the illuminated space while being photographed. Following photos show construction and components.
