Light arena for insect photography

Light arena for insect photography
Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
The top portion consists of two face-to-face plastic oil-change pans from Walmart painted white on the inside with high-temperature-rated white spray paint. The bottom consists of an upside-down white plastic paint bucket that I cut down to keep the contraption from being top-heavy. I added the part I cut off as a sleeve to strengthen the rim, fastening it with three or four short screws, and drilled some ventilation holes in the side with a flat bit. It is fastened to the upright oil pan with bolts, washers and nuts. The lighting ballasts and a small cooling fan are mounted inside it, and it also contains the transformer for my camera's power cord.
