ant - Stigmatomma pallipes - female

ant - Stigmatomma pallipes - Female
Cross Plains, Dane County, Wisconsin, USA
September 2, 2011
Size: ~6mm
I was preparing to return my containers of caterpillars back to the garage when I noticed this ant on the bottom of the large tray which holds the containers (actually a plastic litter pan). There are a large number of flying ants about this time of the summer so I assume this one just happened to land in the pan. Wondering if this is an ant in the genus Amblyopone.
