Cotton Stainer? - Dysdercus suturellus

Cotton Stainer? - Dysdercus suturellus
Vero Beach, Indian River County, Florida, USA
June 13, 2006
Size: 11mm
Looks a lot like a Cotton Stainer, but there was no cotton to be seen.
I am pretty sure that is what this is, compare to this photo:http://creatures.ifas.ufl.edu/field/bugs/cotton_stainer01.htm

There are a lot of other hosts apart from cotton
listed on the UF Featured Creatures site - if that's your only concern, I'd say it's not a problem.

...
You are right. I see them so often on cotton only I had assumed that was the only host.
