Our third (whoops! - our 4th!) Chicago robber - Laphria

Our third (whoops! - our 4th!) Chicago robber - Laphria
Harms Woods Forest Preserve, Glenview, Cook County, Illinois, USA
June 12, 2006
Size: ~14mm
Another all black one that we saw yesterday when we were out. We assume this is the same species as the one we just posted, but we don't know.

Moved
Moved from / ithypyga complex.

Laphria
You guys went Laphria crazy. This is not the same as the other darker species. You can see the triangle of golden hair on the thorax. This is in the index/ithypyga pair. And very reduced gold compared to some other on this site.
