Harnessed Tiger Moth - Apantesis phalerata

Harnessed Tiger Moth - Apantesis phalerata
Durham County, North Carolina, USA
September 26, 2002
This is probably a Banded Tiger Moth, Apantesis vittata, or Harnessed Tiger Moth, A. phalerata. I'm going to leave it placed at the generic level, because that is as far as I'm (relatively) sure of the identification.

This individual was found at a light, chilled and posed.

Moved
Moved from Apantesis--thanks for help on ID, Ted.

Apantesis phalerata
Harnessed Tiger Moth - Hodges#8169; black spot visible on each side of collar.
