Size: silver dollar size
We live near a creek in Box Elder, SD, which is near the Black Hills. I found this moth on our back door, captured it in a jar, photographed it then released it. We have never seen a moth like it before.
From your database of images we found two images of female "Io" (Automeris io) moths that closely match it.
