Turquoise Green Metallic Bee? - Chrysis

Turquoise Green Metallic Bee? - Chrysis
Lake MOnticello, Fluvanna County, Virginia, USA
August 25, 2011
Size: Very small
I searched for this on Bug Guide and some look similar that are bees, but none have black eyes. Does anybody know what this is? A bee or something else? First one we've seen here.

Moved from ID Request.
Yes, it is a cuckoo wasp, genus Chrysis. Looks like it could be C. angolensis but I can't be sure about that.

Cuckoo Wasp
In the Guide here.

Others will probably be able to take the ID further.

Wasp!?
Gee, Ken, your ID is plenty. I like the name too! I guess I'm still not real sure of wasps and bees. I searched under bee. Thank you so much!! I wanted to share it with my subscribers. I try to make people view bugs differently. This cutie and the name may give some folks pause to consider. LOL
