June Bug - Cyclocephala lurida

June Bug - Cyclocephala lurida
The Woodlands, Montgomery County, Texas, USA
May 28, 2006
Texas A&M lists this as a common beetle here. It seeks light, and like other June Bugs, it noisily hits our lighted windows at night. ("Common" agrees with our experience. In the evening, the June Bugs hitting the window can sound like popcorn in the microwave.) It's not a spectacular picture, but I'd hate for a newcomer to think these beetles aren't found in Texas.
