Flag-tailed Spinyleg eating butterfly - Dromogomphus spoliatus

Flag-tailed Spinyleg eating butterfly - Dromogomphus spoliatus
Hagerman Wild Life Refuge, Grayson County, Texas, USA
June 6, 2006
Thanks for the great information.
I have corrected the name of the Dragonfly.
Wondering what butterfly this might be.

Moved
to guide page.

Should be Flag-tailed Spinyleg
Dromogomphus spoliatus, with those rings on the abdomen

Flag-tailed Spinyleg
Thanks for the information.
Learning about Dragonflies is turning into a great adventure.

Dragon
Looks like a Dromogomphus species and not a Dragonhunter. And the butterfly is a Junonia. Whether it is everete or coenia in your countryside, I can't say from the shot but it looks very dark.

Thanks
Thank you so much for the information.
I will double check the Dragonfly.
