She was hanging out in the Huntington Beach Central Park. It was a pretty overcast morning, so that may have been why she decided to stay put in the center of her web for so long.

Orb Weaver?
Have one of these, I think, but thought that they were nocturnal. Ours likes to dangle and weave in the late afternoons. Thanks for this site - LOVE it! Honestly, it saved the life of said spider and she looks really scary; glad to know she's harmless with two little babies that play in the general area.
