I must have been a bit fuzzy in the head that day in October;
not sure why I came up with Amblycorypha for this one. It is a Broad-winged Bush Katydid, which is in genus Scudderia.

Moved from rel="nofollow" rel="nofollow">Round-headed Katydids.

looks like you and Mike Sylva photographed the same critter
between the two photos, I'll probably be able to identify the species when I get a chance to look more closely - not many in genus Amblycorypha to choose from in Ontario.
