Peucetia viridans? - Peucetia viridans - female

Peucetia viridans? - Peucetia viridans - Female
Claremont, Los Angeles County, California, USA
September 24, 2011
This beautiful spider was spotted at the Claremont Colleges' Robert J. Bernard Biological Field Station guarding her egg sac at the top of an old white sage (Salvia apiana) inflorescence. Although she's not really green, I suspect her to be a Green Lynx Spider, Peucetia viridans. Correction or confirmation will be greatly appreciated!

Peucetia viridans is correct
Moved from Spiders. The other species is Peucetia longipalpis.

In my experience with this species they stay pretty green most of the year and then start to turn color in the fall. I'm not sure if that applies to the western variations though... I only observed them in NC.

Thanks!
Thanks so much for confirming my suspicion!

Green Lynx Spiders aren't always green
They can change their color to match their surroundings.

She looks like a green lynx to me, but there's another species and I don't remember how to tell them apart.
