Can't fool me!
That's a seed! At least that's what it looks like, which I think is the whole point of these guys playing dead. I found loads of shiny black ones about 3mm that do the same thing. I'll be shooting them today.

You are so right-I thought it was seed or funny shaped pebble until I saw the legs-then I still wasn't sure if it was a whole insect.

More species!! YAY. I have to see those. I wonder how many I passed up not knowing.
