Fly 2 - that hang-dog look - Toxophora

Fly 2 - that hang-dog look - Toxophora
Riley Wilderness Park, Coto De Caza, Orange County, California, USA
June 17, 2006
I'm making three posts, since the flies are different individuals and also may be different species.

This one acted different than the others, with the rather odd perching posture shown here being typical for it.

Moved
Moved from Lepidophora.

Toxophora
This is a Toxophora species.

Thanks so much, Joel
I don't think we've met online yet, but I do like your photos, particularly Epalpus signifer.

Lepidophora.
I believe this is another species of Lepidophora, very distinctive for that "broken back" appearance. Moving to guide page.

So it's not bashful or coming off a bender?
Thanks, Eric
