Sawfly maybe - Dasymutilla - male

Sawfly maybe - Dasymutilla - Male
Santa Catalina Mts., Pima County, Arizona, USA
October 3, 2011
Size: ~6-7mm
Some kind of Argid Sawfly maybe? Can someone ID? Thanks

Either D. foxi or D. sicheliana
I can't be sure from a photo. Both have very similar coloration and vestiture.

Moved from Velvet Ants.

Check out Dasymutilla sicheliana male

Thanks
Margarethe - I went to the bugguide images, but couldn't find one that looked like mine. Maybe I'll just try all images of D. sicheliana on the web.

Cropped and moved for expert attention.
Moved from ID Request.

Mutillidae
Sawflies never have this proverbial hourglass wasp waist
