Bathroon Spider with Egg Mass - Araneus gemmoides - female

Bathroon Spider with Egg Mass - Araneus gemmoides - Female
Gillette, my bathroom, Campbell County, Wyoming, USA
October 6, 2011
Size: body 8 mm, legs 10 mm ea
Spider rudely transplanted from perch above toilet to workbench, photographed, then released to rose bushes. She built a silk-encased egg case in the bathroom. Case and spider were captured for brief imprisonment in clear deli box. In the process of decanting the prize, many eggs were shaken out of the case to serenditously provide a unique setting for photos of their mama on a hard white plastic sheet. Notwithstanding our new relationship of familiarity, I do not know what she is.
