I don’t think it is Elasmostethus, but maybe Elasmucha (???). I have moved your picture to the family level, where there are other bugs similar to yours.

Acanthosomatidae.
This is actually in the family Acanthosomatidae (some authorities lump them with the Pentatomidae), and in the genus Elasmostethus if I recall correctly. We have some other images in the guide, but this one is superb.

 
Shield Bug
I can see how the shield bugs could be lumped with stink bugs, I have a hard time telling them apart. Thanks Eric.
