Please help identifying small black bugs found in house

Cleaning out kitchen today and found several small bugs. None in pantry or near food. They all seem to be found in open bowls or pans. All were found in one cabinet where pots and pans are stored, inside pans, or in an open container that was stored under bar area. Most were dead but found two alive which we killed. Not fast moving. Small bugs measuring 3mm in length. Narrow body less than 1mm. Black. We cannot take a pic with our camera that will focus in on the bug. By pics on this forum it looks most like the swarming termite, but there is no evidence of shed wings, nor did we ever notice a "swarm". Nor were they found near windows or light source. Wondering if they could be the termite or a weevil, beetle or borer. Have searched the remainder of kitchen, including pantry where stored food is, but no other signs of these little bugs. They appear to be black or dark brown. Found about 16 total. We live in central indiana, in a second story condo. They have antenae and six legs. Too small to for us to really determine any other features. Any help or insight is appreciated. Thanks!

One other possibility might be carpet beetle larvae?

No clue
It sounds, though, like these are showing up in your pots and containers because they can't find their way back out after crawling or falling into them. If that's the case, they could be present elsewhere, but are managing to get to hiding places before you see them.

Hmm...
Very hard to say. There are many possibilities as to what this could be. Perhaps Springtails? Check out these to see if any look like your critter.
