tiger beetle - Cicindela limbalis
down the mountain a bit (just shy of 9000 feet) from pingree park campus, colorado state, north of rocky mt. nat'l park, Larimer County, Colorado, USA
Size: 5/8" or so
it was running and flying in short bursts along the side of a dirt road. beautiful copper highlights when in sunlight
