Cellar spider - Physocyclus globosus - male

Cellar spider - Physocyclus globosus - Male
Sarasota, Sarasota County, Florida, USA
October 18, 2011
Size: 5mm
Based on eye arrangement and location (the ceiling in our home), I presume this is a cellar spider, maybe Pholcus phalangioides. I couldn't find this carapace pattern in bugguide though. Trying to find a more definitive ID for a science fair project.

Moved from ID Request. With 40 species in the US I think I'd have to check some references before guessing this one. The Balabans could certainly be right though.

Looks to us to be

Psilochorus pullulus
Thanks John and Jane. It certainly does look like that one. As common of a spider as it seems to me, I'm surprised there aren't more photos of it on bugguide. Perhaps too ordinary? I searched Psilochorus pullulus online and it pulled up a Wikipedia page that surprisingly said they are not found indoors. My measurement is a bit longer than their 3.5mm and their described distribution from Maryland to Georgia doesn't match up with our west Florida location and the other find on Florida's East coast. Perhaps the Wiki needs updating? Or could both be a different species?
