(1) Identification
Adult: forewing whitish with large irregular dark brown patch in median area; strands of brown project outward from patch to wing edges, leaving intervening whitish areas along costa and outer margin; hindwing white.
Range
Heppner (2003) reported the range to include Quebec to Florida, Wisconsin to Texas.

Type locality: Ohio.

Heppner (2003) reported May to June; October.

The larvae feed on leaves of oak (Quercus).
