Araneus saevus is certainly likely
A. nordmanni can look similar sometimes. I think I need to think about these two species a little more as I am suddenly feeling like I'm missing some obvious way to tell the two apart.

I'm starting to think the solid dark red femurs is more indicative of A. saevus and A. nordmanni has two toned femurs usually with white or lighter coloration towards the base.
