Mydas Fly - Mydas clavatus - Male
Green Vale Creek Boat Dock, Lancaster County, Virginia, USA
July 17, 2011
Sitting in the Parking Lot in the Morning.

Moved
Moved from Mydinae.

Moved
Moved from Mydas Flies.

Moved
Moved from Penthetria heteroptera.

I'm with Yurika. Antennae say Mydas Fly.

Mydas clavatus
Do you think Mydas clavatus?

It's certainly possible...
...but I wouldn't attempt a species-level ID from this shot (especially since I don't know how many mydas flies are found in your area). With luck, a specialist will be able to tell you.

Or maybe...
Mydas Fly?

Looks like a Mydas Fly.
Looks like a Mydas Fly Species, the Species the with the common name.

Thanks.
The Eyes did look a little wide.
