They are definitely the same spider just different angles...I took at least 30 pictures of this little guy bending and twisting my camera angle and I came away with 4 that were even useful...went back later hoping the different angle of the sun might help and this spider had vamoosed. Not a fan of celebrity I guess.

it must be a trick of the light/angle. I'd swear that the one above and the one below have different markings.


Put them up side by side and compare the black marks. Could they possibly be the same spider? I've done this same thing myself... in both ways (photographed two specimens and thought there were one & photographed one specimen and thought it was two later).

I can see why you would think that,the first image does look like a different spider than the last three ...it's making me wonder myself. The thing is, they were all taken at the same time, within 15 min from first to last with lots of deleted images in between. I can't explain it unless it was some kind of spider practical joke where in between pics one spider ran off the wed and another took it's place...or...and this is much crazier...I took pics of two different spiders very close to each other and forgot all about the first one in my frustration of trying to get a good pic of the second one... I think if we apply Occam's Razor here we must opt for the practical joke theory. By the way, did you see my pics of the stilt spider...Tetragnatha elongata...I think I have it IDed correctly but was hoping for conformation...It was a super cool spider.
