Waxy Blue hempiteran

Waxy Blue hempiteran
Callahan State Park, Framingham, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
October 22, 2011
These bugs (I believe it's a hempiteran, but welcome a correction to that) were not exactly abundant, but fairly common yesterday. They are slow flyers, and had what looked like some sort of waxy substance on their bodies. If you caught one flying in front of you, it took 30 seconds or so to unstick itself from its own wax before taking off again. ID help appreciated. Thanks!

Try
woolly aphids and see what you think.
