Blaste quieta (Hagen) - Blaste quieta - female

Blaste quieta (Hagen) - Blaste quieta - Female
San Marcos, Hays County, Texas, USA
October 22, 2011
Size: 3.6 mm
After a long brutal, hot and dry summer, I am finally seeing some winged psocids! This female was captured on live oak. To be absolutely sure of the ID, I dissected this one and sent Mockford a drawing tube sketch of the 9th sternum. He confirmend my ID. Mockford says that another distinguishing feature of this species (at least in the females) is the presence of 2 dark spots on the postclyeus. I am including a shot of that also.
