No, I'm not convinced
I just don't know enough about webs to rule out all the possibilities. This is a known Dictynidae


I'm not even sure how much the webs can vary in that family. I say keep an eye out for the spider and let us know what you find. =]

this also has characteristic void with curved edge, a feature emphasized in illustration on p. 110 of Levi, Spiders and Their Kin (2002)
