colorful cobweb spider - Anelosimus studiosus

colorful cobweb spider - Anelosimus studiosus
Sarasota, Sarasota County, Florida, USA
October 30, 2011
Size: 3mm
Along our nature trail that passes along a mangrove area, there are many small cobwebs in the adjacent bushes. The little spider that lives inside turns out to have some nice markings when viewed up close. Hopefully enough for definitive ID.

Moved
Moved from Cobweb Spiders.

Anelosimus, in the Theridiidae
Anelosimus, probably studiosus.

I also have
some photos of an unfortunate spider victim of a parasitoid wasp suspended in the middle of a similar cobweb mesh along the same nature trail. The growing larva has entirely replaced the spider's abdomen. Should I post that as well? And would that go under spider or wasp?

Thanks!
I figured you'd come up with it. :)
