Weevil - Scyphophorus acupunctatus

Weevil - Scyphophorus acupunctatus
Lady Lake, Lake County, Florida, USA
June 21, 2006
Size: 15mm w/o snout
This weevil was in my agave eating, I took it out because I got a little worried it might injure the caterpillar.

Moved
Moved from Scyphophorus.

Thank you
very much. Moved from Dryophthorinae.

Scyphophorus
This weevil is Scyphophorus acupunctatus.

It´s not the same . . .
. . . but same subfamily (Rhynchophorinae). They all feed on monocots.

Palmetto Weevil?
Could it be a palmetto weevil?

Thanks
for looking Sean. I don't think this is the same, yours seems alot flatter, and the elytra seem to be marked differently, but then again, I am not to good at this, so you could right.
