Eastern Comma - Polygonia comma

Eastern Comma - Polygonia comma
Lakewood, Oconto County, Wisconsin, USA
June 22, 2006
This was a hard one to get a picture of...it never sat still for long. I just started snapping, and I got two to turn out.

Comma
This is a Comma species, and in my state it would be an Eastern Comma. I think it is also an Eastern in your state. It is a bit late for Grays here or there.

I agree
I agree with you because I seen these around my home and raised three of them and kept a fourth as a permenet pet due to its torn wings.

Yes, and
we have some comments somewhere about telling this from the Question Mark, too. Five spots around the larger spot, instead of six, seems to be consistent. I'm moving this one to the guide and frassing the second since it's just about identical (but this one's better).
