Anisodactylus caenus - Female

Size: 8.8 mm
This keys to A. caenus vs. A. laetus.

I favor A. caenus due to:
+the dark femora (legs entirely pale in A. laetus)
+pronotum widest near base (widest "about middle" in A. laetus per Lindroth; Ciegler states "widest before middle")
+relative wideness of body (A. laetus is apparently much narrower)

The Anisodactylus laetus in the guide here looks like mine, and I wonder if it is not A. caenus instead.

I agree with "Anisodactylus caenus"
for your specimen here. Since that 2008 post regarding my image-based guess of "Anisodactylus laetus" noted in your link, I did happily acquire in 2009 a reference specimen of true "A. caenus" (OK) which agrees with all images under discussion. Therefore, feel free to update my previous post along with a link to this useful discussion. Thanks Brad for reminding me of my old post which I should have later edited myself.
