Fork-tailed Bush Katydid - Scudderia furcata - male

Fork-tailed Bush Katydid - Scudderia furcata - Male
Sandia Mountains, Cibola National Forest, Bernalillo County, New Mexico, USA
August 17, 2000

looks like Scudderia furcata
As far as I know, we only have the one Scudderia species here. This one does have the "look" of S. mexicana, but the two are almost identical, and that one isn't supposed to be here (they are likely variants of one species anyway).

Moved from Katydids.
