Metallic-hued Helophorus - Helophorus

Metallic-hued Helophorus - Helophorus
Nashua, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
June 18, 2006
Size: 3.9 mm
If took me awhile to realize what this UV light visitor was. It was the apparent absence of antennae, the long palpi, and a vague resemblance to Hydro*chus that led me to look through the American Beetles chapter on Hydrophilidae where I saw a head/pronotum drawing of Helophorus.
