this guy is different (and not much Litargus-like, if you ask me; too small for a Mycetophagus, though; could you solicit Dr Chandler's help?)

I see what you mean. This beetle is wet, affecting its appearance, but it also looks longer-bodied than spilot*us and is 40% longer as well. Moving to family level. I'm happy to learn that I have another mycetophagid species. Now I just need to determine its name. BTW, it was Don Chandler who IDed it here as tetraspi*lotus.
