Wax Scales - Ceroplastes
Moccasin Lake, Winston, Douglas County, Georgia, USA

Size: 5 to 6 mm
Found these scale insects and had no idea as to what they were until I accidentally ran across them in BG. About 5 to 6 mm in size, soft waxy surface with reddish interior, difficult to remove from host shrub.
