Big lady - Harmonia axyridis

Big lady - Harmonia axyridis
Oakland, Alameda County, California, USA
November 27, 2011
Size: 7.9 mm bl
Found on a concrete structure near Temescal Creek, afternoon. Besides the small insect or exoskeleton stuck to its face, it had a patch of something--fungus?--near the lower edge of its pronotum.

Moved to the fungus section
Moved from Coccinellinae. There are already two pages of these, but none yet from California. Frassable if location is unimportant.

H. axyridis, probably with Laboulbeniales fungus
The shape is all H. axyridis: square "shoulders," explanate (flared) rear end. The patch on the pronotum looks like traces of Laboulbeniales fungus, which seems to be more common on H. axyridis than any other species (although it does occur on other species occasionally).

Another H. axyridis?
Isn't the rule that if it's a big Coccinellini with a strange color pattern you don't recognize it's pretty safe to assume HA?

Looks kinda like this one:

Anyone want to confirm/rebuke me?

It probably is
but it might be of interest for the patch of something on the pronotum.
