Who'da thought so many interesting beetles from pool skimming. Maybe I need to re-evaluate my career and be a pool boy! haha

I once stayed
at an eco-lodge in Bolivia that had a swimming pool. We'd get up at the crack of dawn to beat the pool cleaner to it. Some of the best beetles on the trip came from that pool.

Agreed
Despite the fact that the pool at our rental was enclosed by a screened-in lanai, I found many interesting insects floating in it, many of which I didn't collect otherwise.

Tyrtaeus rufus
has been recorded from Florida based on a single collection. It is distinguished from
T. dobsoni
by the antennal club being composed of 3 fused segments (
T. dobsoni
has a club of 4 fused segments).
