Click Beetle - Lanelater schottii

Click Beetle - Lanelater schottii
San Pedro River Valley area, SE of San Manuel, Pinal County, Arizona, USA
July 14, 2011
Size: approx 12-14 mm
Sonoran Desert area, many Creosote bushes nearby, comes to light at night; to me just from comparing to photos on BG, it appears similar to Dicrepidius corvinus, or possibly Chalcolepidius lenzi. Thank you for your help!

Spilman reports ...
LanelaterĀ schottii has a length of 14-26 mm (1).

Lanelater schottii
This sure looks like L. schottii to me, but the size should be larger (>20 mm). Is this size accurate?

Not sure about the size
I was wondering the same thing, and I think it could very easily be larger. I need to figure out a better way of measuring sizes. Sorry about the difficulties. Thank you for your help - it's very greatly appreciated.

sizes on BugGuide
If you are not specifically measuring the insects, it's best to leave the size blank. Even being off my a few millimeters can throw off an accurate ID.
