Normally one has to search through a lot of Queens to find a Soldier. However, I discovered during one cold snap that, while the Queens had gone up to roost in the trees, most of the butterflies which stayed down to roost in the flowers were Soldiers like this one. The cold also made them much easier to approach for close-up photos....
