Collected between 5.VI.2011 and 16.VI.2011; skimmed from swimming pool.

I think this may be a fig wasp. Fits the characters of the family: head with a groove/channel between the eyes, tibiae shorter than femora, middle legs slender, front and hind legs stout. Sorry about the poor photos, its so small!

Yes…
Besides the characters that you mentioned, these wasps have a dorsoventrally flattened head, the females with a long needle-like ovipositor. Males are wingless.
