Moth pupae

Moth pupae
Windsor, Ontario, Canada
December 24, 2011
It doesn't seem to have setae sewn into it, and looks more like their are thin hairs woven into each other, very neatly.
The naked pupae is red-brown, approximately 2cm long, and when in it's "case" (cocoon), it's 3.5cm long.
There (was) a hole on the cocoon, and it was made like a tent over a stick.Under the "tent", the wood was cut perfectly, so the larvae may be able to bore/eat the wood..

Possibly an Io moth , Polyphemus moth, or some kind of tiger moth.
