Size: Approx. 2in
I found this spider hanging out in my garage at around 2AM. It was fairly timid. I safely captured it to take a few shots then sent it back on its way.

Spiders aren't measured with the legs included. I'd guess this one was more like 20 mm?

It was fairly large. It was probably closer to 40mm than 2in, and that is without the legs.

 
Size
Thanks... the largest wolf spiders are around 35 mm, so 40 mm is still a bit on the high end. Since it's so large I wonder if it's Hogna carolinensis? It doesn't seem to have the right markings for that species, so maybe another one in that genus?
