Painted Lichen Moth -- Hypoprepia fucosa

ok I agree
ok I agree after looking more that it probably is Hypoprepia fucosa.

That painted looks just like
the Scarlet-winged Lichen Moth -- Hypoprepia miniata on this site MPG. It may even be the same image.

Can you give us any more
details about the image beyond just the state it was taken in?

um...
like what kind of details?

It was on a back porch under a light after dark. There were a bunch of different moths there so I took pictures of several moths that night.

details
such as county, city, town, date, size? Any such additional information makes your image much more scientifically valuable

ok
County is probably: Hamilton County.
City: im not sure, but close to collegedale.
Date is: 6/02/06
Size: maby 1/2 inch, im not really sure on that though.

how do you all know
that it is a Painted instead of a Scarlet-winged Lichen Moth (Hypoprepia miniata)?
