Flower Longhorn - Bellamira scalaris - male

Flower Longhorn - Bellamira scalaris - Male
Erie, Whiteside County, Illinois, USA
July 1, 2006
Size: 2 cm
I found this beetle along the Rock River. I'm assuming it's a flower longhorn of some type. This is the first actual flower longhorn that I have come across. Can anyone help me identify this further? I searched the guide, but did not really find what I was looking for. Thanks.

Bill

Great to see you back -
have been missing your images!

Glad to be back!
Thanks for the acknowlegement John and Jane. Things have been quite busy! I've been teaching a summer school course on Benthic macro invertebrates to a group of 51 5th and 6th graders. We had an excellent time. I look forward to contributing more photos soon.
